Are hardcore! Alright, admit it, you all loved them at one time or another. they appeal especially to children because they are big and yellow and undisputedly cool. Every small boy between the age of 2 and 5 wants to operate heavy-duty construction equipment. They know this and are proud of it. The true physiological appeal of these toys are that, as a small child, the desire to become part of something bigger and more powerful than ourselves is particularly acute as we are:
A) small
B) Often ignored or passed over, our opinions not valued
so we aspire to become part of something that is definitely
A) BIG.
B) respected and valued (if a bulldozer was charging you and you where a Lego man, wouldn't you move, too?)
So that is why most small children are innately attracted to Tonka trucks.
Most people probably don't give a flying bulldozer.
